PASTORAL PAINTINGS

This body of work spans the early nineties to the present. I'm attracted to these portraits of the American countryside. I find an immense amount of interest in the quality of abandoned vehicles and buildings and their influence on the spaces that they inhabit. They stand as token of both man's influence on the landscape as well as their ultimate impermanence.

The pieces talk about a feeling of place - a peaceful quiet that occurs in the abandoned and forgotten corners of the landscape.
